Moscow Format countries will participate in Kazan meeting on Afghanistan

KABUL – Members of the Moscow format have officially affirmed their attendance at the forthcoming meeting focused on Afghanistan. The meeting is scheduled to convene on September 29 in Kazan, Russia. Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko of Russia confirmed this development.
Rudenko expressed optimism, stating that virtually all participants in the Moscow format have confirmed their intention to attend and engage in discussions concerning Afghanistan’s pressing issues. He also expressed hope for the involvement of representatives from the current Afghan authorities.
Highlighting the significance of the meeting, Rudenko emphasized that it serves as a crucial step in the ongoing exchange of perspectives on the situation in Afghanistan. He underlined the potential contributions of the international community, particularly the member countries of this format, to stabilize the overall situation in Afghanistan.
The Moscow format comprises member nations, including Russia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The previous meeting within this format took place in November 2022.
